Actually the biggest thing Wood brings is an opportunity for creative t-shirts.

That's what she said.

Seriously, maybe he can play center.

The biggest thing Wood brings to the table is 'hope" for the Cub fan.

Doesn't the Chicago Cubs fans already have the "hope" market covered?

Wood came back last year and had not even a handful of meaningful appearances. Not sure why you would want him back as he always seems to throw a wrench in the Cubs' plans. Perennially, there's only one thing for which he can be really counted on--a spot on the Cubs DL.

Apparently Texas has a desire to make Wood a closer. Enjoy.

I agree there is some upside to his return, but I've had enough. I won't mind if he does return, I just think there are better ways to allocate those dollars.

Yeah, bring back Wood for more injury riddled seasons. Anyone who's followed his career knows the guy is never going to last a full season in the Major Leagues. He was almost ready to retire last year when he miraculously felt no pain and started throwing again. How long will that last? Sure, he's a good guy and you want to root for him, but how many seasons with little to show for it can you take?

Oh, Zoner! I'm usually right there with you. But no, no, no, no. Bring Wood back!!! Overpaid? All ballplayers are. The fans love him, I love him. He's a good guy that I can root for. And he can still pitch. What do you want, a sub 3 era? What would that cost on the open market? Yes, injuries have added up and he has not lived up to expectations. But who's expectations? Career 72 - 57 with a 3.67 era. Not too shabby.
