Yeah, you're right about the leadoff hitter deal. There might be a market for Crede but he's coming off a major injury. As for "tons" of pieces, I just don't see it--at least not ones that have much value.

How many teams in MLB have a proven lead off hitter? Not very many.

Williams isn't done dealing and why wouldn't there be a market for Crede? Seems to me that Kenny has tons of extra pieces to play with now and I anticipate a bunch of moves for the Sox moving forward.

I like the move but it's still too little, too late for this team. I don't see how they can compete unless they all have career years.

Swish starred at OSU in the late 90's early 00's. While he was here he was a big name, almost as big as the guys who play at the Horseshoe. He put up some big numbers, leading the Bucks to the College WS and a few Big Ten titles. He was a big reason for OSU's emergence as a Big Ten baseball powerhouse.

He was drafted abuot the same time as my friend Steve, who played at Notre Dame and got the Irish to their first WS. Check out this link about Steve. He is featured in Moneyball.

Swisher is a great hitter with a promising career. He's also a great guy off the field and a good presence to have in the clubhouse. He seems to be developing into more of a team player.
Good pickup for the Sox.
