HOW YOU CAN HELP
Though I have never met him in person, I consider Tim Ellsworth a friend. I visit his site every day. We have corresponded with each other from time to time. He is my brother in Christ. And of course, we’ve enjoyed the gentle ribbing that normally goes on between a Cards fan (him) and a Cubs fan (me).
So I read with sadness his account of the tornadoes that recently hit Union University. Not only has he had to deal with this tragedy personally, but as spokesman and Director of Media Relations for the school he’s had to detail his account over and over again for countless media outlets.
These type of tragedies always give you pause. When it’s someone you know, even just a bit, it really makes you stop and consider the devastation.
First and foremost I know the people at Union and the community there would love your prayers. Secondly, here are two other ways you can help. If you’d like to send via US mail:
Union University Disaster Relief Fund
1050 Union University Drive
Jackson, TN 38305
The University says the biggest need right now is cash donations, as well as gift cards to Target, Lowe’s and Home Depot for the students. You can also donate online right here. I’m sure any amount would be accepted with deep gratitude, as they now fact the monumental task of rebuilding the campus and somehow getting students back to classes.
Thank you.
