   First off, I think that should have been a discussion Mike North was leading, but I digress.
   I think Jay was correct in not engaging Dan in the discussion. He tried to politely decline, but Dan pushed it so there were some bruised feelings. Jay being PC…no doubt. But in this day and age of sometimed benign comments being taken out of context and causing folks to be suspended, nothing good can come of Jay continuing the conversation.

   Exactly. Bilas isn’t the guy to have that talk with. There’s waaaaay too much at stake for him to opine on that topic.

   And Bilas made a great point. It isn’t a topic of discussion when there are numerous white Europeans playing incredible basketball in the NBA. Who cares if they’re not Americans?

   I agree with you about Rose. He’s a STUD! Pretty amazing that Weber stopped recruiting him just because he thought he had a commit from Gordon. Biggest reason the Illini had such a horrible season this year. Hope Bruce learned his lesson.

   And what you pointed out is a huge point. The European players are–most of them–much better fundamentally than the Americans, as well as more well-rounded. It’s a different game there.
