ZONER’S MONDAY MORSELS

3

I think we all had the Tigers as being the last winless team…right? To the morsels…

The Big Lead has photos of Jake Peavy’s dirty hand. Is it cheating? Peavy and his manager defend him over here. I think Peavy makes some sense, but how long until an opposing manager asks for him to be checked?

I don’t know how I missed this. “Smiling Bob” better get soap on a rope. Looks like he’s going to the clink.

Apparently Derrick Rose needs a nutritionist. “He eats Gummy Bears and Starburst for breakfast, and Twizzlers and Honey Buns for dinner. That’s why his stomach hurts,” fellow guard Chris Douglas-Roberts said. “We tell Derrick the whole year, ‘Stop eating so many Gummy Bears and Sour Straws.’ But he can’t. … Nobody eats Gummy Bears more than him.” Hard not to pick Kansas after that very enjoyable thrashing of UNC.

The Office of Strategic Influence has the perfect way to get back at bulk mailers. Mint.

Mike Vick is doing his bid by playing football, prison-style.

And finally, Phil Rogers has his first MLB weekly rankings up.

So is this new color scheme UCLA blue or UNC blue?

That morsel about Rose is great, I try to read everything I can on him and never knew that. Tonight’s game should be fun.

Eegads–is that what comes to mind? I need to switch it to something else posthaste!

Peavy is doing the same thing Kenny Rogers did in the WS against St. Louis. Pine tar gives a pitcher MUCH better grip on the ball and therefore makes it easier to throw the breaking stuff. The pics clearly show the dirt spots on his thumb, index finger and middle finger and the rest of the hand is clear. Yeah, that looks like normal dirt on the hand to me. (eyes rolling)
