ROSENTHAL: MINAYA, OTHER GMS DESERVE BLAME
Interesting column by Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, in which he says several GMs deserve blame for their team’s current predicaments. Speaking about the Mets, Mariners and Tigers, Rosenthal says:
“Three talented clubs. Three $100 million-plus disappointments. Three teams lacking the necessary cohesiveness, savvy and fire.
When will owners and GMs get it? Talent wins, but only if the talent fits. If the talent does not mesh, only the strongest manager can turn a dysfunctional collection of players into a functional unit.”
I’m not sure Dave Dombrowski can be blamed for his 2 best relievers getting injured, his catalyst and centerfielder missing most of the first month, and one of his top run producers getting off to a horrendous start and then heading to the DL. You can blame him for Dontrelle Willis, but you don’t get Miguel Cabrera without taking Willis’ salary in return.
I’m not going to speak about the Mets and Mariners situations, but Dombrowski is hardly to blame for the Tigers woes.

Indianapolis Colts to win Super Bowl
I agree. Dumbo is still one of the best in the business. The problem is inside the clubhouse. Maybe getting Sheff out of the picture wouldn’t be such a bad thing for that team. FIRE MILLEN MANG!
