Oh, Chicago. Get ready. The Vinny Del Negro era just might be a lot of fun. Which isn’t to say the Bulls will win a lot of games under his direction. But if the press conference to announce his hire is any indication, Vinny has quite a way with words, a lot of them to say and a little Terry Bevington in him.

Certainly I am a man-child. Farting is still exceedingly funny to me. Also funny–people trying to use words they don’t really understand. Malaprops. And double entendres. Vinny Del Negro hit the trifecta there, both during his presser and a post-presser interview on WSCR-AM. He spoke about “presenting his package”, and not once but twice mentioned “predeceived notions”.

He rambled on about getting to know him and his philosophy, then really didn’t pinpoint what that philosophy was. Then on the radio, he was asked to repsond in 2 or 3 bullet points what his philosophy was. He replied, “To win. That is my philosophy.”

I’m not really hopeful that this guy has what it takes to be a leader or a great coach. But I am fairly certain that if nothing else we will all get quite a laugh.
