ROSE BUSTS OUT
Derrick Rose came off the bench last night and went off for 30 points. Check out the video below–he goes to the basket more times in this game then Hinrich or Gordon did all season last year.
Also notable about the Bulls’ preseason is Tyrus Thomas. Thomas is averaging 11.5 & 10, along with 2.5 blks and 1.17 steals in 27 minutes per game. What’s odd is that he is shooting 90% from the free throw line but just 35% from the field. For he Bulls to be formidable Del Negro has to maximize his talent.
Preseason NBA basketball is one step up from the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals. (being sarcastic, but you get the idea…they don’t play much defense in these games)
I honestly don’t know how this Bulls team can come close to making the playoffs this season.
So you are not impressed by those highlights?
Yes, but I can find some of the same kinds of hilites for other players who won’t amount to squat in the NBA this season. It’s a practice game where most guys are just trying not to get injured.
But I do think Rose will be a very good player. I just don’t think he’ll perform like this when the regular season begins.
Picked up Rose in my fantasy draft last night. Hoping for big things from him and Beasley.
I don’t think scrubs trying to make the team break ankles like Rose did, nor do they have his speed. He can get to the hole and finish with either hand. That is a rare skill.

I’ve been a Rose pessimist since he was in HS but I gotta admit that he was very impressinve in the Mav’s game. He was running by dudes like they were standing still and hitting some tough shots (admittedly not starters). My only issue is all his moves started with the right-to-left cross-over. That’s gonna get old. But he’s SO much quicker than anyone else on the court.
