ROSE CONTINUES TO SHINE

10

It was a late West Coast game last night, but Derrick Rose provided some highlights in the Bulls 116-109 loss to the Lakers. Rose had a terrific game with 25 points on 11-18 shooting and 9 assists to only 2 turnovers. How about that for his first game against the Lakers in L.A.?

2 questions about Rose: Do you think he’ll make the All-Star game this season? And do you think other big name free agents would want to come to Chicago to play with him? Will he have that effect?

The first question isn’t really a big deal. But I hope to the answer to the second is yes.

I’ve watched the kid play every single game this year, and he hasn’t let me, u, our fans, or our organization down. Kid is going to be an All Star for years to come. Zoner me and you need to start a DROSE for ALL STAR GAME campaign!!!

My crystal ball says there will be a D-Rose, D-Wayde backcourt in the near future.

I think, for sure, other stars will want to play with Rose. Scorers love a great point guard because it makes their lives so much easier. Wade. joe johnson, or Bosh in 2010 would be ideal, but I’m not sure how likely that is. At that point, Rose’s powers will be out of control though, so maybe that gives the bulls a shot. it’s certainly a better plan than rolling out benny the bull and the love-a-bulls like they did for T-Mac earlier this decade.

Rose is definitely a player with whom others will come to play with. Wade would be great but until we get some inside toughness we are cooked. Lakers toyed with the Bulls. The Bulls didn’t play D and 20+ turnovers. Same script as last year. I thought 40 wins this year, looks like it may be close to that. JL

Reading my mind Zoner – had the same Rose as All-Star question myself when I looked at his numbers – and couldn’t you see the league *ahem* influencing his addition to the roster…

As for the 2nd question – it’s a real simple sell – how would you like the ball delivered to you in your favorite places to score? Every NBA player would say yes.

haha rickhouse, i remember that benny the bull fiasco. man the years after the jordan years have been rough!

I think he’ll hit a wall very soon, so your all-star game selection may have to wait a year. BUT he’s an amazing talent, no doubt.

I just find it funny/questionable how the Bulls had a million in one chance of getting the first draft pick for him and somehow magically got it. It sure does make the NBA a lot more marketable in a big city like Chicago now. Funny how that works sometimes.

  8. Josh Parr says:

Amazing how Cleveland got the marketable hometown hero in the draft. Now Chicago. Conspiracy?

  9. dhaab says:

Just saw that Rose had only 6 points in a blowout loss to the Trail Blazers. He’s only 20 years old, guys. He’s not an all-star yet.
