Ryan Theriot, Tower of Power

2

Another game, another important Ryan Theriot home run.

With Jim Hendry joining Len and Bob in the booth, Theriot jacked a two-run shot off Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez. It turned out to be the game-winner.

Theriot has homered in 3 of his last 4 games. That number matches his career high. He hit one homer all of last year. He hit 7 homers in his first 1264 major league at-bats. He hit just 5 homers in 2048 minor league at-bats. Now he has hit 3 in his last 15. Amazing.

Just a few games ago Theriot hit a flyball to left for an out. Brenly commented that you don’t really want to see Theriot hitting the ball in the air. I agreed. I think classic Theriot (if there is such a thing) is when he slashes the ball the other way. But now, who knows?
