Interesting NFL Numbers Through Week 2

Running through some interesting numbers and stats through the first two weeks of the NFL season.

  • The Rams are seriously making a run at taking the Lions crown of worst team in the NFL. They have all of 7 points through 2 games
  • Antwan Odom already has 7 sacks. His career high is 8 and he had only 3 last year
  • Cedric Benson is 6th in the league in rushing yards. Matt Forte is 36th
  • Benson is tied for the league-lead in carries with 50. Forte is averaging 2.2 per attempt on 38 carries
  • Marion Barber, Mike Bell and Adrian Peterson have rushed for 13 1st downs. Matt Forte has rushed for only 3.
  • A tight end is leading the league in receiving yards. Dallas Clark with 222.
  • Josh McDaniels may be an offensive guru, but the Broncos have given up a league-least 13 points. Rex Ryan & the Jets are next with just 16.
  • The Ravens lead the AFC in points with 69. The Saints lead the entire NFL with 93.
  • Green Bay and the Falcons are the only teams to play both of their games at home. Falcons are 2-0, Green Bay 1-1.
  • The Lions, Panthers, Bucs and Browns have all allowed more than 60 points. The Lions lead the way with 72 points allowed.
