BEARS CONTINUE DOMINATION

1

So what are we to think now?

The Bears ran over the Lions on both sides of the ball in a 34-7 rout. Rex Grossman is looking like he will be the starter in Honolulu at the Pro Bowl. The Bears D looks as fierce as last year.

We have never seen a Bears QB do something like Grossman has yesterday. Long scoring passes, red zone scores and completion after completion that wasn’t a bailout to the flat for 3 yards.

Several times color commentator Tim Ryan mentioned how Bears receivers didn’t have to break stride at all. Grossman was incredibly accurate. He’s connected on 71.7% of his passes with an average of 10.40 yards per attempt.

And while those insane numbers aren’t likely to be the ones he has at the end of the year, it doesn’t really matter when your defense allows only 7 points in the first 2 games.

Next up for the Bears are the gritty Vikings in Minnesota. The Vikes are 2-0 after beating the Panthers yesterday. Who would have thought that the Vikings are getting the better of the Randy Moss deal? Napoleon Harris had 10 tackles and a sack yesterday as the Vikes pounded the Panthers.

The Vikes beat the Skins at RFK in week one. 2 victories over teams that most thought would be playoff contenders. Next week’s game is for first place.

Meanwhile, tho impressive, the Bears’ victories are over two teams no one expects to contend for anything but the division basement. I wouldn’t get too cocky if I was a player on the Bears.
