BEARS’ D HAPPY BENSON GONE

Great stuff from MJD and Shutdown Corner. Apparently Jay Glazer was on the Dan Patrick show recalling how the Bears’ D wanted to injure Cedric Benson so Thomas Jones was insured the starter’s job. Just wild.

Has there ever been a player in Chicago that was as despised as Benson? There isn’t one solid example or story that points to something about him people liked.

Is he the biggest 1st round draft bust in Bears history? You have to of course throw in Cade Mc Nown, Curtis Enis, Michael Haynes, Stan Thomas…never mind. This is taking too long. He’s in the team photo though, to be sure. And that photo is the goofy grin mugshot from his most recent arrest.

And for the people that think Shaun Alexander isn’t worthy of a phone call–are you nuts?

    PB, Angelo has made some very good later round picks in his time. He’s really good at finding defenders. As for offense, he shouldn’t even try. LOL

    That’s entirely possible. But it’s worth a look.

    I’m not a Seahawks fan, but I’m sure I speak for all of them when I say we’ve looked at Alexander plenty over the past two seasons and he’s AWFUL now. Not even a shell of his former self.

    And while it’s true that in some sports like baseball, players (see Edmonds) can hang on and once in a while do positive things to win games, football players just don’t have that luxury. You either play fast in the NFL or you’re career is over.
    Just sayin’. :)

    BTW, can your Cubs at least lose ONE game once in a while?
    They’re peaking too soon. :)
