Unbelievable last drive by Griese. Let the jokes about not being able to communicate with Ron Turner ring out.

Since my first post was gobbled up by the internets, consider this an open thread to discuss the game and the Bears’ chances the rest of the way. Some questions for you:

Will the Bears make the playoffs? Do they have to win their division to get there? Will the defense get back to being one of the league’s best once Vasher gets back? Will the Bears at some point make Adrian Peterson the main back? Do they have any chance without a better run game? Bernard Berrian switched to agent Drew Rosenhaus. Does he have an overinflated opinion of himself? Will the Bears win 10 games?

    Will the Bears win 10 games? Going 7-2 is a tall order, even for the best teams in the league. If I were to bet I’d say no way on that one. [MORA]Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?![/MORA] If they make it to .500 this week then the Bears are very much alive in the woeful NFC. Vasher’s return will help, but the Bears D has been on the field so much this year that I doubt they return to the leagues elite because they’re a tired bunch. AP as the main back would be a good move. At least he has some passion. Berrien sucks. LIONS 4-2 MANG! RESTORE THE ROAR! FIRE MILLEN NOW!

    No, and yes.

    Will the defense get back to being one of the league’s best once Vasher gets back?

    No, but I’d settle for middle of the pack at this point.

    Will the Bears at some point make Adrian Peterson the main back? Do they have any chance without a better run game?

    Probably not officially, they might just employ the passing sets that Peterson plays on more, because they don’t have a better running game; and, ultimately, the number of attempts might be almost as important as the yards per carry, so, I don’t think the state of the running game is so bad that takes away their chances (to what, I’m not even sure, though I’m assuming the playoffs), I’m more concerned about the D against a team that doesn’t suck.

    Most definitely. Even Baldinger could see what a weak effort he made on the missed block. Which just confirmed my growing suspicions that he’s kinda soft.
