Random observations while watching the game…
–Another terrible 1st drive for the Bears defense. Brady Quinn and Jason Wright lead the Browns down the field. Whenever you wanna flip that switch…ya know, go ahead.
–On the Bears first possession Matt Forte does a great job blocking in the backfield. That is excellent because…
–John St. Clair just got called for a false start on consecutive plays. Then 2 plays later–after Forte converts 3rd & 17 with some nifty moves–St. Clair lets the end fly right by him. Orton feels it coming and throws a terrible pass that is woefully underthrown. Interception Browns. Thanks, Chris Williams.
–I think Erik Kramer is mint. I love his terminology and his easy going style.
–Can anyone explain to me why Kyle Orton didn’t play more than 2 series? It’s not as if he couldn’t use the work. Do we really need to see Rex Grossman? I’m pretty certain we know what he can do. Plus the Bears have a slew of new receivers: Lloyd, Booker, Kellen Davis and Bennett.
–Heh heh. Grossman leads the Bears on a 95-yard drive for a TD. Figures.
–And why don’t we see Hester more? Is he so polished that he doesn’t need reps at wideout?
–Caleb Hanie rules. I don’t care what you say.
–How long until we hear the fire Babich talk? If I tune into sports radio today will I hear some of it?
–And finally–hurray. The preseason is over. It’s the biggest sham in professional sports and a ripoff to those that pay full price to see it live.
