BRIGGS WILL SIT OUT SEASON
I just don’t see how any of this is helping [tag]Lance Briggs[/tag], short or long run.
“I am now prepared to sit out the year if the Bears don’t trade me or release me,” Briggs told FoxSports.com’s Jay Glazer. “I’ve played my last snap for them. I’ll never play another down for Chicago again.”
This continues to get more lame by the day. We now have Briggs telling us he was tricked into doing an interview on a local sports talker. Um, yeah. Every negative utterance decreases his trade value and the [tag]Bears[/tag] won’t deal him unless the price is right. If he really wants to sit out a whole season, I would suggest new representation. If the name of the game is money and a long-term deal, sitting out does nothing to help that cause.
And I know the NFLPA approved the Franchise Tag clause, but I think it should be allowed a one-time use per player. That makes a lot more sense to me.
