BRONCOS RELEASE HENRY
The Denver Broncos have released virile running back Travis Henry. Coach Mike Shanahan: “He’s just too inconsistent as a person. When you’re too inconsistent as a person, you usually aren’t going to win championships.” Inconsistent? Isn’t he 9-9 in babymaking?
So look for newly acquired Michael Pittman and Selvin Young to lead the way for the Broncos next season. Henry will latch on somewhere. Yeah, I was going to say the Bears but last year he had a failed drug test, and this year he says he pulled a hammy. The hammy apparently is a matter of opinion. Says running back Andre Hall: “I really can’t say too much. I don’t know too much about what’s going on, what happened. I guess he had a hamstring injury. I know he’s supposed to be out here. He’s not hurt.”
Though Shanahan has a knack for finding backs and getting them to excel in the Bronco system, he has a whiff here with Henry and also the drafting of Maurice Clarett.
