CEDRIC BENSON SAID WHAT?
Maybe they ought to administer a drug test for Cedric Benson. Apparently he is high. Benson recently had this to say about Bears rookie Matt Forte:
“He is having a great year, but when I see the highlights, I see holes,” Benson, now with the Bengals, told writer Thomas George. “I see them using him in the slot, something they didn’t do with me. If I was there right now with the holes I see, I probably would have 1,800 yards. I definitely would have 1,500. I congratulate him on all of his success. He is taking advantage.”
Benson has amassed 392 yards rushing on 130 carries with the Bengals, an average of 3.0 yards per carry. Benson is now in his 4th NFL season. His career long run is 43 yards. Forte beat that in his first ever NFL game against the Colts.
Benson was a terrible receiver coming out of the backfield. So the Bears were supposed to put him in the slot? Puh-leeze. Forte already has more receptions in his 14-game rookie season than Benson does in his entire career.
Give it up, Ced. Be happy you have a gig in the league.
