CUBS MAKE A TRADE
The Chicago Cubs have acquired Omar Infante from the Detroit Tigers for outfielder Jacque Jones and cash.
He must be the missing piece.
UPDATE: Infante has played almost 500 MLB games and sports career averages of .253/.298/.386. Jim Hendry loves him some weak-hitting, impatient middle infielders! No word on whether Dusty Baker was cursing out Wayne Krivsky for letting such a player go to a division rival. The Neifi signing looms large.
The Cubs do save about $4 million in 2008 payroll on this deal. And we all know what that means–makin’ room for A-Rod!
