Snowing again here in Chicago today. Enough already. Some quick Cubs hits…
Soriano hasn’t much yet. He’s up there hacking away. He has no homers or RBI, has already been picked off first base and has drawn 1 walk in 35 ABs. The other day I posted the over/under on the first time I’d write about the Cubs defense blowing a game. I guess it was the last game against Houston. Soriano misplayed a flyball into a run-scoring double and Cesar Izturis had 3 errors.
Some cat named Chris Sampson needed only 64 pitches to go 5 shutout innings. He left because of a sore calf. He allowed only 3 singles. Perhaps he’s the latest in a long line of Cubs killers. He’s now blanked the Cubs in 12 consecutive innings while giving up only 6 hits. That streak includes his MLB debut when he blanked the Cubs over 7 innings for his 1st career win.
The Reds and Daddies are up next here at snowy Wrigley. The weather is supposed to improve. Hopefully the Cubs will too.
