FANTASTIC FADES OF NFL 2008

A look at some of the more fantastic fades of this NFL season.

Remember when the Bills started out 5-1? They ended up 7-9. They went 0-6 against the AFC east. Stop me if this sounds familiar, Bears fans: “The most interesting thing of all? That Jauron, already on the hot seat for his game-day coaching, could put a big, fat cherry on the season’s final Sunday, a classic failure of clock management and uninspired leadership that just might get him fired.”

The Broncos started out 4-1. And while they had the division in hand, they lost their last 3 ending up at 8-8. No team gave up more points in the AFC.

The Packers went into their bye week and if they made adjustments, they shouldn’t have. They ended up 2-7 in their last 9 and the last win was against the Lions.

The Jets rattled off a bunch of wins against some ompressive opponents. And then they dumped 4 of their last 5 against teams like the Seahawks, Niners and Broncos.

Chucky and the Bucs sat at 9-3 and looked like a certainty for the playoffs. Oops. They lost their last 4 to finish 9-7 and out of the postseason.

The Redskins and Jim Zorn were the talk of the league after starting 4-1. Then after a Thanksgiving-week win over the Seahawks, they sat at 7-4 and looked like they might be headed to the playoffs. But they lost 3 in a row, and 4 of their last 5 to finish 8-8.
