FAVRE TOP RATED QB, BUT…
This can be considered picking up where you left off: Cedric Benson had 10 carries for 30 yards in his Bengal debut. Big things ahead. Big, big things.
Benson’s Bengals, the Texans, Rams & Lions are all winless. Which team wins first? Which team’s Head Coach is canned next? The Rams have already taken care of that and my guess is the Lions are next.
While the Chiefs have won one game this year and Larry Johnson looks resurgent, Herm Edwards is playing QB derby. This week it’s back to Brodie Croyle, who is returning from a separated shoulder that occurred in the opener against the Pats. But Edwards went to Damon Huard, then Tyler Thigpen, and I think even Dave Krieg had a start in there. Now it’s finally back to the QB of the future in Croyle. It’s just that I doubt Edwards will be around long enough to see it.
Quick: Who’s the number one rated passer in the NFL? Brees? Rivers? Warner? Nope. Brett Favre at 110.8. What’s interesting about the rating though is that Favre has only 11 completions of 20 or more yards. Drew Brees leads the league with 21 and Kyle Orton is tied for 3rd with 18. Favre does have 12 TD passes but only 935 yards passing, good for 17th in the league.
And while the Jets are only 2-2, their next 3 games are against the Bengals, Raiders and Chiefs. Then in week 9 they are at Buffalo, a game that could be for first place. They still also get to play the Rams, Niners, Seahawks and Dolphins. 10 wins doesn’t seem far-fetched at all.
Do you have J.T. O’ Sullivan in your fantasy league? Better get a good backup. J.T. has been sacked 20 times already through 5 games.
