It was a rough weekend for Bears fans. We need to have a little fun with this. Assuming Rex does not keep his job and go on to lead the Bears to a Super Bowl win, it’s difficult to picture him coming back to the Bears next season. So where will Rexy end up in 2008? Here are a few scenarios.

  • The world finds out Jim Sorgi doesn’t really exist; Colts need backup, sign Rex
  • Rex ends up battling Brodie Croyle for the Chiefs starting job.
  • Rex signs with the Chargers and backs up Phil Rivers
  • Rex becomes the starter for the Atlanta Falcons, beating out injured Byron Leftwich
  • Steve McNair retires; Rexy battles Kyle Boller for the starting gig in Baltimore
  • Brett Favre retires; Rexy battles it out with Aaron Rodgers!
  • Rex carries the clipboard for Carson Palmer and the Bengals
  • Goes to Giants. Eli and Rex together. Oh. My. Goodness.
  • Rexy starts for the Jets! R-R-R-Rexy and the Jetsssssssss
  • Rexy goes the way of other forlorn 1st round draft picks–ends up on the Rayduhz
  • Back with Marty Booker, Rexy wings it for the Fins!

Go Rexy!

I urge Lovie Smith to please play Rex Grossman. PLEASE? Pretty please, with sugar on top?! It’s the only chance the Lions have of staying in the game!

Your wish is denied! Griese is the man this week.

You’re going to be calling for Orton before long.

Gotta love how quickly this Bears “dynasty” (you were tempting the fates when you posted that article, Zoner) is crumbling. Just shows you how fast fortunes can change in the NFL.

Trivia question: How many teams have released Brian Griese during his 10 year career?

  • http://zonersports.com The Zoner

I just posted it. It wasn’t necessarily my opinion.

Things sure do change quickly. Rams will likely be 0-4 as they play Dallas on Sunday. =0p

I’ve never said Griese is the straw that stirs the drink. I would be very surprised however if we are calling for Orton. But if Griese sucks by all means let’s see how Orton has progressed in the last year or so. By that time the season will have been lost anyway.

Rams are decimated by injuries. Pace went down in the first half of the first game. They were destined for a bad record this year. I will say this, though, Linehan is doing NOTHING to show me he’s a good or even average head coach thru all of this. His game planning has been horrible.

On a completely different topic, I went out and played nine holes today at Village Links in Glen Ellyn. Shot a 1 under, 35!!

Orton is the future, Griese is just a band-aid. I hope we go w/ Orton and move Rex to #3 on the depth chart.

he’ll probably end up in the Canadian league
