HERE COME THE SUNS
Maybe that Steve Kerr knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
The Suns are clicking. They won their 7th game in a row by beating Houston 122-113. Amare Stoudamire had an amazing 20-20 from the foul line, and finished with 38 points, 13 boards and 4 blocks. Since Shaq has come over from Miami, Stoudamire is averaging right near 29 & 10.
Shaq is settling in too. He played almost 36 minutes and had 23 & 13 on 8-10 shooting. Since coming to the Suns his rebounds are up almost 3 a game, his field goal percentage is up and his fouls are down.
The win streak has included victories against the Spurs, Memphis, Golden State, Sacramento at home, road wins at Portland and Seattle and Saturday’s win at home againt the Rockets.
They now go on the road to play Detroit, Boston, Philly and New Jersey before returning home to play Denver. So the streak may end at 7.
The West is insane. Denver has a .600 win percentage and if the season ended today they would not make the playoffs. New Orleans has moved into the 1 seed, with the Lakers and Suns right behind them. Dallas could easily fall to the 8 seed. So could the Spurs. The 1-8 matchup is no gimme for the top seed this year. This is going to be a lot of fun.
