I HOPE JERRY ANGELO HAS THE INTERNETS

10

From the Broncos website:

“Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful.

A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.

We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

Remember when Jerry said that the Bears are “fixated” on getting the QB position right? Cutler makes it right for about 10 years. Trade multiple picks and whatever else they want from our roster, except for Matt Forte and Chris Williams. And I mean anyone from the roster.

How often are young QBs that are coming off seasons of 4500+ yards and 25+ TDs available? Try never. And goodness, he likely hasn’t hit his ceiling yet.

Lots of teams are interested in Cutler. I doubt Angelo will be able to outbid them. This is the Bears we’re talking about, afterall. Maybe the Lions trade 20 and 33 picks? Nah, they need defense. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wound up in Minnesota. Ugh. FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!!11

The Bears are supposedly making a big push to land Orlando Pace.

They won’t go after Cutler. PB is right. Angelo doesn’t win bidding wars.

Unfortunately you’re right. But Pace would be sweet!

  • dhaab

Actually I think Pace is a shell of what he was. I’m not saying he’s washed up, but he’s not even close to being the player he used to be. Too many injuries and too old of a body.

No doubt, but he is still better than whoever would play RT. I also like it cuz then Williams gets to play RT for a while, which can’t be a bad thing.

Honestly, I think the Liedowns have more to offer Denver than other teams. They have picks 1, 20, 33, 65 and 82. Those plus picks from next year might be what is needed to get Cutler in Detroit. But if Denver wants a vet QB then the Lions are screwed. Chicago has, um, nothing to offer. Unless the Broncos want old defensive players. FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

WOW!! I was DEAD wrong about this. (yeah, shocking, right?)

I think they gave up way too much, but at least they went for it.

  • http://zonersports.com Zoner

How did they give up too much?

  • dhaab

Two first rounders and a third? That’s a lot of early picks for someone who is still somewhat unproven. Plus, the Bears are in the middle of a rebuilding mode and have holes. Losing all those picks isn’t going to help. Yeah, you get a gunslinger who has skills, but you gave up a lot of young talent in the future for it.

    Unproven? Are you high?
