LET IT BE BOLDIN
Over at the Chicago Tribune, Vaughn McClure writes about the Drew Rosenhaus letter in which the agent states that 3 of his clients: Anquan Boldin, Plaxico Burress and Chad Ocho Cinco are all available via trade.
McClure asks readers to tell him which receiver you would want the Bears to pursue. I wrote about my desire for Boldin to the Bears back in September, and that has only increased since then. An excerpt:
“It’s no secret that Anquan Boldin wants to be traded. The mystery to me is why he isn’t a Bear already. When you enter the season with playoff aspirations and no proven playmaker on offense, it seems more than a little odd. Foolish is a better description. Especially considering you have a new starting QB who needs all the help he can get.
Before there was Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin was the next big thing in the NFL. If he played in say, Dallas or New York, he’d be all over your TV in goofy commercials.”
I won’t bore you with the rest of the post, but it includes his numbers. Boldin is also just 28 years old, while Stumpy Burress and Ocho Cinco are 31. For me that’s a big factor. Plus I don’t think anyone can question the desire and toughness of Boldin. Can the same be said about the other 2?
So I’m still waiting Jerry Angelo. Get Boldin to the Bears.
