MADDDEN ’08: SLICK BUT SLIPPERY
Here is an awesome review of Madden ’08 from The Debriefing on the AOL Fanhouse. John Clifford Ness does an outstanding job of detailing what’s new in the game, as well as working in the funny. He even describes the different groups of people that would actually go out at midnight to get the game:
Group #1: Guys who are 10 years younger than me, and will play the game with their buddies for the next 12 hours, altered by various substances, having a blast, giggling the whole time, until one game gets too serious at about 9 a.m. and two guys end up brawling over a pass interference non-call, and someone ends up in the emergency room after their head goes crashing through the living room table. I am no longer this cool.
Neither am I. But I will get the game at some point. While Ness offers a lot of praise for the game, apparently there is an excessive amount of fumbling.
In two games, I fumbled four times with LaDainian Tomlinson … that just shouldn’t happen. And I made the Raiders running backs fumble about nine times through two games, which maybe should happen, but it still seemed a little excessive.
