MILLEN RETURNS TO DETROIT

1

Here in Chicago, the stench from Detroit has moved downwind quickly. It’s the smell of the collective vomit from the Detroit faithful after learning that Matt Millen will return for yet another season.

Millen has guided the Lions to a 24-72 record under his tenure. And he says he would never quit.

“I can’t do that. I don’t even consider that.”

Asked why he wouldn’t quit, Millen replied: “You’re given a job, regardless of what it is. You keep on working and trying to get the thing done.”

I don’t blame him for not quitting. It’s not his fault he was offered and accepted an extension on his deal.

The Lions are so bad that they can’t even be bad correctly. They beat Dallas on Sunday to lose the #1 overall pick in the 2007 draft. I suppose the Raiders now select Brady Quinn; even more reason to despise them. So which Wide Receiver does Detroit take this year?
