MORE ON BILLY PACKER

5

A killer blog post from “Awful Announcing”: Billy Packer Could Take The Joy Out Of Sex. True. As I commented on his blog, could you imagine how much more fun we’d have if they dropped Packer and boosted Raftery?

I’m tired of hearing Raftery use the term “puppy” in regards to a basketball. I’m always waiting for him to go into a seizure after a big play.

Packer needs to go back to calling play-by-play for minature golf (oh yeah, he did!) He’s terrible. Always has been, always will be. More Verne and Raft mang! FIRE MILLEN!

Packer is consistently awful. To quote Bill Simmons from a few days ago:

“What chain of events needs to happen for CBS to replace him with a more palatable, more enjoyable, agenda-less lead analyst? Does 100 percent of the country have to band together and say, “We’re tired of this guy?” Or are we good at the current number of 97 percent?”

Right on. It’s not as if the ratings will ever be poor. They need to look deeper than that. Riddle me this: have you ever heard any fans praising the work of Packer? I haven’t.

Unfortunately, CBS sports is loyal to a fault and Packer will remain their lead analyst until he retires or dies.
