NBA Preview: Timberwolves vs Thunder
Minnesota Timberwolves (4-10) @ Oklahoma City Thunder (9-4)
Date: Monday November 22nd, 2010
Time: 8:00 pm EST?
Preview: The worst team in the NBA Northwest Division will play the top team. Minnesota, at 4-10 and 5.5 games back in the division. Minnesota is coming off a 17 point Friday night loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Timberwolves on the season are the worst defensively, allowing 109.9 points per game. Offensively, Minnesota is scoring just over 100 points per game. The Timberwolves are led by power forward Michael Beasley. The former Kansas State star is scoring 22.4 points per game. Youngster Kevin Love leads the Timberwolves on the glass, ripping down 13.8 per game.
The Thunder, despite missing leading scorer Kevin Durant for the last two games have won four straight games. After beating Boston on Friday night, the Thunder downed Milwaukee by one on the road Saturday night. The Thunder lead Utah by just ½ game in the division. Oklahoma City’s point guard Russell Westbrook has been excellent, with just under 8 assists and 2 steals per game.
Durant, who led the league in scoring last season with just under 30 – is scoring 28 points per game this season.
My prediction in this game: BLOWOUT. Durant may or may not play. Who cares. Thunder win 108-88.
