NO, LET ME BE CLEAR
“Let me be clear. I have never taken steroids or HGH. No matter what we discuss here today, I am never going to have my name restored.”
Read: Let me be clear. I have perpetuated this lie for so long now, I have no choice but to hire expensive attorneys and put on my best steely face and claim I am telling the truth. I will likely tell the truth in 10 years or so, kinda like Pete Rose, in attempt to be admitted into the Hall.
This whole thing is a huge joke. Why does congress care about this? Why do they care about Roger Goodell destroying the Pats’ scouting tapes?
I listened to the coverage and heard these congressmen telling stories of how they were batboys and how they grew up in minor league baseball and all other sorts of inane sputum that has nothing to do with anything. Big deal–it’s America. We all grew up with baseball.
Then they all asked the same things over and over again. These people would have better served the public by handing out sandwiches or logging a few hours at a soup kitchen or shelter.
And does anyone believe Clemens? Does anyone really care? My goodness–these days, admitting you took PEDs is akin to a politician announcing they took drugs in their youth. Big whoop. He was on his way to the Hall before he ever took anything, same as Bonds.
Most of the country is on drugs. Illegal drugs. Alcohol or weed. Prescription drugs run wild in this country–so much so makes you wonder how we’re in a recession (even though we’re not in a recession). And athletes have their own flavor too. Ryan Dempster is obviously on drugs.
Let me be clear: I no longer care. Instead, I care about whether Geovany Soto will hit 25 homers. Or if Jim Thome has one monster year left in him so the Sox hang around the race. You know, important stuff.
