NO, LET ME BE CLEAR

8

“Let me be clear. I have never taken steroids or HGH. No matter what we discuss here today, I am never going to have my name restored.”

Read: Let me be clear. I have perpetuated this lie for so long now, I have no choice but to hire expensive attorneys and put on my best steely face and claim I am telling the truth. I will likely tell the truth in 10 years or so, kinda like Pete Rose, in attempt to be admitted into the Hall.

This whole thing is a huge joke. Why does congress care about this? Why do they care about Roger Goodell destroying the Pats’ scouting tapes?

I listened to the coverage and heard these congressmen telling stories of how they were batboys and how they grew up in minor league baseball and all other sorts of inane sputum that has nothing to do with anything. Big deal–it’s America. We all grew up with baseball.

Then they all asked the same things over and over again. These people would have better served the public by handing out sandwiches or logging a few hours at a soup kitchen or shelter.

And does anyone believe Clemens? Does anyone really care? My goodness–these days, admitting you took PEDs is akin to a politician announcing they took drugs in their youth. Big whoop. He was on his way to the Hall before he ever took anything, same as Bonds.

Most of the country is on drugs. Illegal drugs. Alcohol or weed. Prescription drugs run wild in this country–so much so makes you wonder how we’re in a recession (even though we’re not in a recession). And athletes have their own flavor too. Ryan Dempster is obviously on drugs.

Let me be clear: I no longer care. Instead, I care about whether Geovany Soto will hit 25 homers. Or if Jim Thome has one monster year left in him so the Sox hang around the race. You know, important stuff.

    Sad. All of it.
That it happened. That it’s being dragged through the media like it is. That Roger is on trial for the country to see. That we care as much as we do.

Henry Waxman likes his gavel. That is really the point of having the hearing. He gets to do nothing else important, ever.

    LOL to that.

What is in it for Brian McNamee to lie about this one player? Clemens own best friend, Pettitte even claims it to be true.

Mike, what makes you think we care about this? Just because the media puts it out there, doesn’t necessarily mean anyone really cares all that much. IMO, THAT is the real problem with America these days. That our media tells us what we should be concerned about. Terror, street crime, celebrities doing stupid things, athletes getting busted for doing stupid things, blah blah blah.

The legislative branch is investigating & the judicial branch is writing laws. What the heck is going on here?

I don’t understand why Clemens is not being investigated by the FBI.

Marion Jones was sentenced to serve six months in jail for lying to investigators after admitting her golden achievements in Sydney were fueled by steroid abuse. She was stripped of her gold medals and fined.

Clemens deserves to have his name cleared (or punished fairly) after a proper investigation. Not a witch hunt.

    dhaab-
Good for you for having an independent mind. And thank you for feeling you have the need to defend yourself and your actions to me. Obviously I am an important figure in your life, although I would encourage you to find your worth in God rather than in an English teacher who is saddened by the events of our cultural values.

But thanks anyway for making me feel so special.

    And Zoner-
I wonder the same thing: What has McNamara to gain by lying? Interesting bit of information that he gave Clemens a heads up before the Mitchell report was released. Something he didn’t have to do.

  • dhaab

    Mike, overreact much?

I wasn’t defending myself to you, nor do I care what you believe in. It sounds to me that you need to get over yourself just a wee bit.

Oh, and thanks for taking the time to tell me I need to find God (you must really care about me). But that ain’t gonna happen any time soon.

I believe Clemens took the drugs. Jack McCoy would have a hard time proving it as it is all hearsay evidence, but I believe he did and thats what counts. Congress is a joke. They are so many more important things going on in the world than this b.s. What a waste of time. These pretzels are making me thirsty. JL

    No thanks. I like me.

And don’t sweat about not wanting to find God anytime soon. He’ll wait.

    No hard feelings.
