OCHO CINCO FOR CINCO CUATRO?

Chad for Brian? Ocho Cinco for Cinco Cuatro?

A local sports yakker was asking who you would rather have right now on your team. I think it’s intriguing. And before you freak out, I know this will never happen. Think of it like a Sam Smith-crazy make em up trade scenario.

Johnson is signed through 2011 and is just 30 years old. I’ve no doubt he can compete at his current level through the end of this contract. But if you can’t be happy with Carson Palmer throwing you the ball, what happens when Sexy Rexy is your QB?

While Urlacher really turned it on in the second half of last season, he did have offseason surgery on his neck and has had a balky back for years. He has 4 years left on his deal.

The Bengals certainly have a need for a defender of Urlacher’s caliber. The Bears would simply move Briggs into the middle, and they obviously have a need for a big play wide out.

Johnson has played in all 16 games each year since his 2nd in the league. From 2003-2007, Johnson has averaged 92 catches, 1374 yards and over 8 TDs per season.

For me–given the current state of the Bears roster–I’d rather have Chad Johnson. He has a big mouth but he backs it up. Would the Bears be better with Urlacher or Johnson?
