OIL COMPANIES POSTING RECORD PROFITS

0

The New York Times reports that oil companies are seeing amazing profits:

  • Exxon Mobil, the world’s largest oil company, said yesterday that its third-quarter net income jumped 75 percent, to $9.92 billion. Its profit in the first nine months of this year – $25.42 billion – already equals its full-year earnings for 2004. This year’s sales, which topped $100 billion in the last quarter, are expected to exceed those of Wal-Mart.

They could at least make sure that the receipt printers are filled with paper and ink when you pay at the pump. That’s the least they could do. The most they could do? Lower the prices. But that wouldn’t fit in with their inflated sense of entitlement and lack of compassion for their fellow citizens.

Ya I left a name, and I woudl still like to bash ur head through a window b/c ur a sick person. How ignorant can you be to insult an organization with fans that applaud the opposing team.. and wait an hour after game time to see each and every player of the cardinals. Seriously man, get help. Someone that lives with that much hatred and that much negativity makes me feel really sorry for u, but more sorry for ur children.

You want to bash my head in over a comedy article on a blog and I need help? “Someone that lives with that much hatred and that much negativity”…um, that would be you, not me.

    Really man–let it go.

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Evan</span>

ha wow listen, you obviously know that I am exagerrating but still, it upsets me that you can be that ignorant to touchy subjects. Especially to an organization and a team like the St. Louis Cardinals who have the most genuine fans there are. So please, I hope you tell your children earmuffs when u say things like this, because I honestly feel sorry for you.

Haha, yeah, and your a real Cubs fan, and a bandwagon White Sox fan. Enjoy your bandwagon World Series.

“The Cardinal faithful should probably have their panties in a bunch about their pathetic postseasons in ’04 & ’05…”

Yea, they may have been pathetic, but at least the Cardinals got into the playoffs. So, that would make your Cubs more pathetic than the Cardinals?…

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

Hey, you know what’s really funny … when Brian Piccolo died. Man, I’ve got a million jokes that Chicagoans would love to hear about that situation. Want to hear them? Of course that is not funny, and neither are your sub-human jokes about Darryl Kile. And don’t excuse your nasty self under the lame guise of “Lighten Up, Francis.” Gee, what an orignal line. Don’t think anyone has ever used that quote before, you clever dog you. Listen, dimwit, you didn’t just offend Cardinal fans, you offended anyone with even an ounce of decency. Now go back to watching the White Sox celebration and keep deluding yourself that it’s just like if the Cubs won the World Se… Sorry, my keyboard froze up when I tried to type out that phrase. Really, could you or the Cubs be bigger losers if you tried?

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

Clearly, the intent of such posts are to infuriate fans of the St. Louis Cardinals. Clearly, The Zoner would like to impress the planet with his myriad witty, gramatically-correct musings on why the St. Louis Cardinals suck; on why their fans suck. Clearly, The Zoner would like said fans to respond in a flurry of heated, misspelled comebacks.

If you dislike what The Zoner has to say, and find much of it in poor taste (as I do), don’t reward him with what he wants.

Take all the shots you’d like at Julian Tavarez, though…I’d rather pull random fans from the crowd to pitch.

    Kenny J.-

It would indeed make the Cubs more pathetic than the Cards. That Kenny, goes without saying. I never said the Cards were pathetic–just their last 2 postseasons. And yes, a lot of this is “consider the source” material. I’m a Cub fan born and raised in Chicago.

For anonymous, I could definitely be a bigger loser. As for the Cubs…

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

FIFTY BUCKS SAYS YOU COULDNT POINT OUT CHICAGO ON A MAP. ANYONE KNOWS THAT IF YOU ARE A CUBS FAN, YOU ARENT HAPPY THAT THE SOX JUST WON THE SERIES. FAIR WEATHER LIARS NEED NOT REPLY

  • http://www.blogger.com/profile/17608926989592946088 <a href="http://www.blogger.com/profile/17608926989592946088" rel="nofollow">The Zoner</a>

Everyone also knows that is a fairly recent phenomenon. The Cubs drew fleas until the 80′s. I repeat–I have and always will love both teams. And there are plenty of people like me. Quit watching so much tv.

Where can we meet so I can capitalize on your cartographical challenge?

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

How could you not find Chicago on a map? The place is fucking huge! Cardinal fans really are stupid, and not “genuine” as Evan said, more like complete morons. Cardinals fanbase=worst and most unknowledgeable fans in baseball

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">real baseball fan</span>

WOW ANONYMOUS. THAT WAS BY FAR THE DUMBEST THING I’VE READ ALL WEEK. I PITY THAT YOUR LACK OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION PREVENTED YOU FROM LOCATING THE SARCASM IN MY POST. HOWEVER, ZONER, YOURS WAS CLEVER. I’M ASSUMING THAT ANONYMOUS WILL DO HIMSELF A FAVOR AND NOT POST ANOTHER LAME, GENERAL, “WELL PLANNED” POST. BUT WHEN I ASSUME, I’M USUALLY WRONG.

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

I was being sarcastic with the first part of that response. The second part where I bash Cardinal fans…well, ya, I really did mean that.

  • http://CUBSSUCK.COM <a href="http://CUBSSUCK.COM" rel="nofollow">Zach</a>

“Cardinals fanbase=worst and most unknowledgeable fans in baseball”

All that does is make me laugh inside. Because I know how dumb the Cubs fans are and how smart the cubs fans are. Unbelievable how dumb people can sound, WOW

  • http://CUBSSUCK.COM <a href="http://CUBSSUCK.COM" rel="nofollow">Zach</a>

I meant how dumb the cubs fans are and how smart the cards fans are.

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

For one, I am not a Cubs fan. About as far from it as possible. And, Cardinals fans really are not that smart. Some of the dumbest in the game IMO.

  • http://www.blogger.com/profile/17608926989592946088 <a href="http://www.blogger.com/profile/17608926989592946088" rel="nofollow">The Zoner</a>

Zach you walked right into it there…

But how do we know anyway? There are a ton of people that go to games that haven’t the slightest clue about the game. Like Tim Mc Carver for example.

But I will verify that there are a lot of goofs at Wrigley that go there for booze and bimbos and sunshine. Cubs fans are different becuase we also are the only team in MLB playing the majority of our home games during the day.

But there are a lot of Cubs fans who know the game and respect it.

  • <span class="anon-comment-author">Anonymous</span>

You said “The Cardinal faithful should probably have their panties in a bunch about their pathetic postseasons in ’04 & ’05 and their anemic and atrophied farm system.”

Do you really want to start bringing up the past postseasons? Do you really want to open THAT can of worms? What were the Cubs doing in October last year or this year? Oh yeah, it was NOTHING! If I were you, I wouldn’t want to draw attention to the postseasons of the Cubs in the past 2 years, since there were NO postseasons for the Cubs.
