OLBERMANN’S HALFTIME SCHTICK BOMBS
Keith Olbermann premiered his “Worst Person in the NFL” segment during an awkward halftime show. It failed not only as a segment, but also as a cross-promotional piece for his MSNBC show.
Olbermann looked nervous and certainly not confident in the material. I kept saying before the segment “please not about Vick…”. But it was, even if indirectly. Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the NFL” this week wasn’t Vick; it was Keith Olbermann. Olbermann railed on himself for some poor writing about the Vick case. Scintillating stuff. And by that I mean really lame.
He even had a red phone on the desk with a ‘hotline’. Genius. Original. Shoot me now. Batman/Commissioner Gordon joke…wait for it…Costas…Yes!
The segment was so bad and its only redeeming quality was that it was awkward television, which is always fun to watch. And let’s face it–what exactly is he going to say that the NFL will allow anyway? Nada.
Thank God for time-shifted programming. Here’s the vid:
