Good ol’ Woody. What is this–his 10th big league season? And he still hasn’t learned how to scratch our itchy ears. To be fair, he likely doesn’t do it because he’s afraid he’d pull a muscle. After giving up 4 runs in one inning on a Termel Sledge grand-slam, Woody has these words for us:
“I had better stuff this time than I had the other day,” Wood said. “My slider was better. I hit a guy with it. Still had him fooled. … The results, obviously, weren’t the same, but I threw the ball very similarly.”
Wood said he’s feeling “great” and having a good time, but doesn’t feel like a full-fledged member of the bullpen yet.
“I really haven’t spent a whole lot of time with the guys I think I’ll be down there with,” he said. “It’s a little hot down there. Better get used to it.”
I hope you’re ‘stuff’ doesn’t get any better. And don’t worry [tag]Kerry Wood[/tag]. You likely won’t have to get used to it. We pretty much know where you’ll be for most of the season. And go over to Target and get one of those rubber mats to place in front of the hot tub.
