OSCARS: LONG, BORING, BAD
Maybe it was the after effects of watching 2 sensational basketball games. Ohio State vs. Wisconsin was thrilling and the Bulls vs. Pistons provided plenty of entertainment. Or maybe it was simply the worst Oscar broadcast since I can remember watching them. Ellen elicited some laughs, but I counted on her to make it a memorable event. Instead, as Randy Jackson might say,”Uhhh…it was just OK, man.”
The best part–go figure–was the piece done by Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C. Reilly. The rest was just bad, boring and wayyyyyyy too long. They clumped the big categories at the end of the show and by then I almost didn’t care who won. Especially since it seemed fait accompli that Mirren and Whitaker would win.
A huge season of sports is right around the corner. March Madness, the beginning of MLB and the NBA playoffs. They’ll all be much better than that sorry broadcast last night.
