Party Like It’s 2005: Scotty Pods Is Back
Scott Podsednik will always have a place in the hearts of White Sox fans. Now he’s back on the White Sox roster.
Podsednik was an all-star for the Sox in 2005 and had an amazing postseason. He didn’t hit any homers during the regular season. But in game 1 of the ALDS against the Red Sox, Podsednik homered as the White Sox smoked Boston 14-2. But more memorable was his bottom of the 9th, walk-off homer against Houston closer Brad Lidge in game 2 of the World Series.
Fast-forward to 2009, and Podsednik was cut on April 1st by the Rockies. The Sox signed him. Brian Anderson got hurt. And Podsednik is back.
He’s playing well so far. He had 2 RBI on Tuesday, and he has 6 hits in 5 games. And the Sox need him right now. Maybe he fades away, but who knows? Maybe he becomes one of the best stories of the season.
