Pat Bowlen decided to write a letter to Bronco season ticket holders to explain the trade of Jay Cutler. And if you are here in Chicago, here’s guessing you will hear this item relayed on Thursday’s edition of “Who Ya Crappin?

In his letter, Bowlen wrote that he felt compelled “to give our community and our fans an explanation regarding the Jay Cutler situation,” and suggested he had no problem with his 32-year-old rookie coach chasing off a franchise quarterback before he’d even conducted his first practice.

Eventually that might be the case, but how can Bowlen be happy with his new coach? Just months ago they had a Super Bowl-winning coach and one of the best young Quarterbacks in the league.

Now they have a smug Belichick protege — hoodie and all — and Kyle Orton. Yeah, Bowlen must be thrilled.

Wow, Kyle Orton gettin’ no love from the Zoner! Why, just last year these pages were full of quotes like:

“If he keeps playing like this there is even a chance he could make the Pro Bowl.”

“Orton has been shredding every defense in front of him.”

Let the manlove of Jay Cutler continue…

    FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Orton gets love — as evidenced by those there quotes. But the other guy here threw for 4500 yards and 25 TDs and actually was named to the Pro Bowl.

Nothing wrong with Orton–they may win some games with him. He’s just not as good as Cutler. And in that Bowlen has to be disappointed.
