PHELPS AS LURCH?
Links, thoughts and quotes on a sunny Wednesday here in Chicago…
Cam Hutchinson, Saskatoon StarPhoenix, on Vin Scully’s 59 years on the job: “When Scully started calling Dodgers games, the Cubs had only gone 41 years without winning a World Series.”
The Chicago Tribune’s Steve Johnson writing about the season-opener of SNL and Tina Fey’s dead-on Sarah Palin impression: “But I was more impressed by the skit in which host Michael Phelps played Lurch, from “The Addams Family.” Wait—you’re kidding. They didn’t have him play Lurch?” Ouch! I watched the first few skits and thought it was absolute garbage. I’m guessing some high school variety shows are much better.
Speaking of Palin, Charlie Krauthammer owns Charlie Gibson in a column titled “It Was Gibson’s Gaffe“. I was happy Gibson introduced her to the grill, but I was surprised that he was rather condescending. In the words of Vince Vaughn from basically every movie he’s in: C’mon Charlie. You’re better than that.
How is it I’ve never seen this site before? You’ll want to check out This Great Game.
And finally, Charles Barkley gets the “Anchorman” treatment.
