Review: Kurt Warner’s “First Things First”
Kurt and Brenda Warner have penned a new book titled “First Things First“. The “First” does not stand for first down, and those expecting a football biography detailing the many highlights of Warner’s career will be pleasantly surprised. Why? This book is better than the usual fare for football heroes.
This book is mostly about family, debunking myths about their relationship and just telling stories about how they work together to raise 7 kids. The Warners reveal quite a bit about their lives, their family rules and even their failures.
I was a bit stunned reading about their views on sex and how they keep their relationship spicy. I didn’t expect that at all. There’s also a touching story of how Warner gave his daughter a purity ring, telling her not to let “20 minutes of fun ruin her life”. While he and his daughter were crying, Kurt wrote that Brenda the Marine never cries. She actually was laughing because Kurt put 20 minutes as the time frame for that “fun”.
“First Things First” entertains and informs. You get to know the Warners and get some solid parenting tips along the way. Highly recommended.
