RIGGLEMAN TALKS CUBS

Great read this morning about what seems like a million years ago–the Cubs with Jim Riggleman at the helm. Riggs talks about what it was like during his tenure here and also comments on this year’s Cubs.

“I think they’re going to win,” Riggleman said. “The combination of Lou, who is a dominant personality, and Hendry, who is an aggressive guy, they’re imposing their will in the league.”

Then Riggleman is predicting a championship for the team with a 100-year record of losing?

“Once you get in the playoffs, you never know,” he said. “I think the Cubs are going to go deep in the playoffs.”

The keywords in there friends? Once-you-get-in. Breathe through your noses, people. This is not yet a sure thing.

As for Riggs, here’s hoping he gets the gig in Seattle permanently.
