Slow Starts Are Now Bad Seasons: Pitchers Edition
Time to look at the pitchers…
Francisco Liriano, Twins. He’s still not right, as evidenced by his 2-7 record and 5.99 ERA.
Jon Garland, D’Backs. Some White Sox fans wanted him back. Careful what you wish for. Garland has more walks than Ks, and ERA of 5.61 and a WHIP approaching 2.
Jamie Moyer, Phils. Is it finally the end for Moyer? His ERA is over 6 and he has already given up 14 homers. The league is hitting .313 against him.
Ian Snell, Pirates. Snell has almost as many walks as Ks and is 1-6 with an ERA of 5.54. The league is slugging .500 off him.
Fausto Carmona, Indians. He won 19 games in 2007 but is nowhere near that guy anymore. He’s walked more than he’s K’d and is 2-6 with a 7.42 ERA.
Brian Moehler, Astros. Moehler has been solid in his first 2 seasons as an Astro. This year, not so much. He’s 2-6 with an ERA of 6.95. He’s made 9 starts and lasted just 44 innings.
Brad Lidge, Phils. 6 blown saves, 3 losses an ERA over 7 and 7 HRs allowed in just 20+ innings.
Oliver Perez, Mets. ERA nearing 10. Need I say more?
