So Now It’s Peavy To The White Sox?

If I’m a Sox fan I would be really nervous right now.

From the Trib:

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the White Sox are interested in trading four players for San Diego pitching ace Jake Peavy.

The newspaper reported this morning that Peavy met with Padres manager Bud Black to discuss a trade inquiry from the Sox.

Peavy would have to consent to the trade, which would come with significant financial ramifications for the Sox. The report cited Padres personnel as its sources.

Why would I be nervous? Because if those 4 happen to include Beckham and Poreda, than I would pass on a Peavy trade. Peavy has been outstanding in May after a rough start to the season. But the Sox need bats — younger ones — before they need more pitching. They need a catalyst at the top of the lineup.

I would love to see him here on the Sox. But I wouldn’t sell the whole farm for him. It just depends on the 4 that are in the deal.

Sox need to score some runz mang! Third to the bottom in runs scored (in all the majors) is not the best way to win a division. Unless Peavy can pinch hit I say this isn’t a good idea. Hey, wait. Tigers fan here. This is a AWESOME TRADE! FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Oh, so the Cubs fan doesn’t want the Sox to get Peavy now. LOL

From what I’ve read, this deal doesn’t involve Beckham. Therefore, it’s a complete no-brainer for the Sox.

PB, you’re nuts! This is a fantastic move for the Sox.

His agent seems to think that Peavy won’t make the move, wanting to stay in the NL. The bigger hole the Sox need to fill is a CF. One that can hit leadoff. FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Dude– I am the rare breed of both Sox and Cubs fan. I want him as long as Beckham isn’t involved, which he’s not as I have read too.

Richard and Poreda and basically whoever else they want.

  • PB

Peavy may rethink it after the close contest today. 20 to 1? Yikes! FIRE FORD MANG!!!!!!!!!1

Whatever, Zoner. If the Sox are playing the Cubs, I know who you’re rooting for.

Not true. I even cheered at Wrigley when Caruso homered to beat the Cubs. lol
