So Now It’s Peavy To The White Sox?
If I’m a Sox fan I would be really nervous right now.
From the Trib:
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the White Sox are interested in trading four players for San Diego pitching ace Jake Peavy.
The newspaper reported this morning that Peavy met with Padres manager Bud Black to discuss a trade inquiry from the Sox.
Peavy would have to consent to the trade, which would come with significant financial ramifications for the Sox. The report cited Padres personnel as its sources.
Why would I be nervous? Because if those 4 happen to include Beckham and Poreda, than I would pass on a Peavy trade. Peavy has been outstanding in May after a rough start to the season. But the Sox need bats — younger ones — before they need more pitching. They need a catalyst at the top of the lineup.
I would love to see him here on the Sox. But I wouldn’t sell the whole farm for him. It just depends on the 4 that are in the deal.
