“A 35-year veteran police officer with the New Orleans Police Department was suspended, with only 15 minutes left on his last shift, for wearing the wrong uniform shirt.

Sergeant Guidry told New Orleans’ Times-Picayune paper that he wore the shirt on his last day out of respect to the 18 police officers who had been killed in the line of duty during his long career, all of whom wore the same uniform. Because the suspension was active at the end of his shift, he will no longer be eligible to receive his retired police commission and will not be accepted into the agency’s reserve unit as he had intended to do. Police department spokesman Bob Young has said that Guidry’s personnel record will indicate that he retired “under investigation.”

In comments published Tuesday, the 63-year-old [tag]Rolling Stones[/tag] guitarist said he had snorted his father’s ashes mixed with cocaine.

“The strangest thing I’ve tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father,” Richards was quoted as saying by British music magazine NME.

“He was cremated and I couldn’t resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn’t have cared,” he said. “… It went down pretty well, and I’m still alive.”

That’s garbage. We all know [tag]Keith Richards[/tag] isn’t alive. Other things snorted by Richards: scrambled eggs, turkey (lean), Vicks Vapo-Rub, Dandruff (April Fools Joke) and Shredded Wheat.

ERIE, Pennsylvania (AP) — A woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to
swinging her 4-week-old son like a bat to hit her boyfriend during a
fight, fracturing the infant’s skull in the process.

Chytoria Graham, 27, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child under a plea agreement with prosecutors.

By pleading guilty, Graham acknowledged that on October 8 she grabbed her son Jarron by his feet and swung him, hitting her boyfriend and seriously injuring the child.

At Graham’s preliminary hearing in December, paramedic Betty Schau, who treated the baby, recalled that Graham was crying and disheveled when medical crews arrived. She testified that Graham told her, “I swung him. I swung him like a bat.”

The judge ordered a psychological examination for Graham before her
sentencing, set for May 8. The charges carry a minimum of five years in prison because the child was under age 12. Two lesser charges were dropped.

The child has made a full recovery and this lady’s 4 other children are with her parents.

(AP) — Sheboygan police arrested a woman after she allegedly left her two children in a freezing car for 20 minutes while she went tanning.

The 27-year-old woman was arrested after two people spotted the children, ages 23 months and 10 years, in the car, the police department said in a news release. The vehicle was locked but not running.

Officers responding to the scene Wednesday evening were approached by the children’s parents. The father met the mother at the tanning salon and was arguing with her about why the children were in the car, police said.

The children were dressed warmly, but they had “goose bumps” from the cold, the release said. They did not require medical attention.

The temperature at the time was 12 degrees, with a wind chill index of about minus 2 degrees.

The woman could be charged Friday with two counts of misdemeanor child neglect, police said. “She said she was going on vacation and felt that the tanning was a priority,” Lt. Jeff Johnston said Friday.

But then…you open your bag and your smacked in the face with ham sandwiches. So you freak. Who can blame you? You just lost a buzzer-beater to Longwood and you get ham sandwiches? And who can blame you that you “just went belligerent, screaming that he didn’t want ham sandwiches,” and grabbed and shook a female assistant manager.
