Switzerland vs Belarus Preview and Odds
Switzerland and Belarus will play in the second round of games as part of the preliminary round. Both teams are part of Group B. This is the final game of the day and the 12th of the tournament. This game will take place on Sunday May 12st, 2011 at 20:15 in Kosice.
In the most exciting game of the opening day, Switzerland escaped over France. Julien Vauclair scored a goal at 1:46 in overtime to win a 1-0 game. The goaltending for Team Switzerland was fantastic, as Tobias Stephan’s stopped all 29 shots thrown at him. Switzerland had a lot of question marks coming into the tournament, but not many were answered, as they played a right tight first two periods.
Belarus would like to put their opening game behind them and move on. Belarus struggled against one of the top teams in the tournament. Team Belarus feels much more prepared for Team Switzerland in game two. In the opening game, Belarus was out matched by strength and speed. Goaltender Mikhail Grabovski was tested early and often, and should be ready to go in this one.
This is expected to be one of the best games of the preliminary rounds. Odds makers have actually pitted this game as a pick’em. We like both teams, but when it comes down to it, we are taking Team Switzerland to come away with this. We feel they have the better of the two goaltenders, and will win this game.
