There were a lot of things to like about the Bulls’ opener against the Bucks. Derrick Rose’s debut, of course. Kirk Hinrich making a seamless transition to coming off the bench. The Bulls’ 44 free throw attempts. A solid all-around game by Luol Deng. Joakim Noah protecting the paint with those 3 blocked shots.

But the most impressive? Tyrus Thomas led the team in minutes, playing over 41. The former regime did not play Thomas max minutes due to perceived lack of effort, foul trouble or the desire to play other forwards. That he led the team in minutes played in the season opener is HUGE.

Thomas made the most of playing all those minutes by filling out the statsheet: 15 points on 5-10 FG and 5-8 FT; 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and one block. Called by many the Bulls X-Factor for this year, Thomas definitely is off to the right start.

    I was really impressed with the Bulls too. I like Hinrich and Gordon together off the bench — they know each others’ games well now. Maybe it takes pressure off Hinrich and allows him to play better too? I don’t know.

    Tyrus Thomas might fulfill all of that potential this season. Wouldn’t that be great.

    Is Vinny D the man to lead this team forward?

    I’ve been meaning to write a nice long article about these Bulls ever since seeing that first-up game with the Bucks.

    This team is going to surprise alot ppl out there! Det. is still old, Cavs are still all Lebron, The Celtics are still the better all around team of the bunch. That leaves us finishing about 5th in the EAST I imagine or umm… hope! That may be bold but this is a PG driven team now more than ever and I think we got a gem in D-Rose! Hinrich is better cmon off the bench.Larry Hughes when he comes back and if he can settle his ego(the only reason a guy of his talent bounces around so from team to team)we’ll be like Hornets of the East!Ben Gordon’s playing for contract still(just maybe not for the Bulls) so I think he’ll play well.I do have ?uestions about Joakim Noah though. I just wonder if he worked on any low post moves over the off season,or maybe touch a weight or two.How about even eating a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich or Some mashed potatos to gain some bulk….yea i had to get that out!Jumpsoles??? …..But I like chances! D ROSE BETTER SERVE MARIO CHALMERS WHEN THEY PLAY PPL ON ESPN SAYING HE’S THE BEST PG IN CLASS!
