THIS IS A CALL: FANTASY FOOTBALL ADVICE

4

So I have the 3rd pick in the draft in a 12-team league. I’m told by the team with the 2nd pick that they will be selecting Stevie Jax. Which leaves me L.J. Or does it?

Some people think he has had too huge a workload over the last 2 seasons. Others cite the loss of offensive linemen. But I like what the NFL Minute has to say about it:

There were three games last season when Johnson didn’t total more than 100 yards from scrimmage. On the other hand, there were 10 games last season when he totaled more than 140 yards.

The post also refutes the arguments for taking Addai, Gore or others instead of L.J. When my time comes up I’m going to find it awfully hard to pass up L.J.

Thoughts?

You asked on my blog what some of the concerns I had for LJ were… I’d say the extremely heavy workload last year, a bad QB, and a weaker offensive line. Those are all some concerns I have about LJ this year fantasy wise.

That said, if I had the #3 pick, I would consider Joseph Addai or Frank Gore, but I agree, LJ would be my pick.

What’s the fun of picking a fantasy football team if you have to ask other people who you should draft?

I suggest you pick as many Bears players as possible since they’re now a “dynasty”. LOL

Not a bad spot to be in a 12 man league. LJ would seem ideal with a new contract and instability with Huard/Croyle at quarterback. Addai might not be bad either as he is the lone RB in Indy, but I’d personally go with LJ.
