T.O., A.J. AND THE LAST EMPEROR
Some links and thoughts from sunny, -8 degrees Chicago.
Great column about “The Last Emperor”. He has disposed of 20 of his opponents in the 1st round. But is he really the best MMA fighter in the world? The Love of Sports: Is Fedor Too Good To Be True?
Once they traded for Roy Williams, I figured this was on the way: Cowboys May Release Terrell Owens. How interesting would it be if the Bears signed him and added another top tier WR like T.J. Houshmandzadeh? Add Hester, Olsen, Forte and a new LT in Chris Williams and that would be the most exciting Bears offense maybe ever.
The Dodgers are set to release Andruw Jones and reportedly he is headed back to Atlanta. Jones tried to turn things around in winter ball, but was only 3-16 with 8 Ks before leaving to tend to his ill wife. Jones is coming off one of the worst seasons I have ever seen in the bigs. He hit .158/.256/.249 with 76 Ks in 209 ABs. He’s only 31 years old and hit 92 homers in 2005 & 2006. Unbelievable how fast his skills declined. Best comment from the linked article: “A sad day indeed for the Greater Los Angeles fastfood industry.” Worst prediction about AJ? Yep, that was me.
“Hi! I’m Ryan Wetnight! You may remember me from such films as ’1.4 catches per game’ and ‘Cuckoo For Short Curls’. What I am up to now? Check it out at Not Qualified To Comment.
And as always, BallerBlogger has some great NBA stories.
