Tony LaRussa is kind of like my Gabe Kotter: I tease him a lot cuz I got him on the spot. Ya dig? But if ever there were a time where we could “Welcome Back” LaRussa to Chicago, believe me when I say I would be happy to do so.

But back to the teasing part. LaRussa will not only defend juice-pumped sluggers, he’ll also defend creatures that truly need it: stray animals. TLR is coming to a house near you to coach up your cat.

LaRussa will be appear on Housecat Housecall, a show that airs on Animal Planet. The show is akin to a “Supernanny” for cats. La Russa will work with host Katrina Warren to diagnose and coach up “therapy cats” for a program run by ARF, which is La Russa’s animal welfare organization.

La Russa will be on the show with his wife Elaine La Russa and two daughters Bianca Tai and Devon Kai. “Dancing With the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba will also be on one of the seasons episodes. I assume she’ll teach the cats to dance? I don’t know. It’s basic cable — anything goes.
