According to ESPN, Bill Parcells is leaving Dallas and retiring. And–banal prose alert–that smells fishy.

Maybe he truly has finally had enough. Terrell Owens seems to have that effect on people. But Parcells doesn’t seem to fit the mold of Jimmy Johnson, who looks ever content in his TV gig. Parcells left his TV gig to go to Dallas, and seemed like a coaching-lifer. I thought for sure he would ride it out there in Big D as it was likely his final destination. Parcells will be 66 this year.

Let the Charlie Weis, Bill Cowher and Ron Rivera rumors start flying.

How about a new TV reality show with weekly cast-offs. The last one standing becomes the Dallas Cowboys head coach?

They’ve got all the ingredients for a reality show: scantily-clad bimbos (the cheer leaders), a psychotic executive (Jerry Jones), spoiled brat dysfunctional family members (TO). And you could have previous cast-offs (i.e. Bledsoe) come back for cameos.

    Wuddya think?

If Parcells makes this announcment right after the season than there is no doubt that Jeff Fisher would be the coach of the Cowboys right now.

Wayne Fontes mang! He’s a proven winner that beat the Cowboys in the playoffs. Okay, so it was 15 years ago. Picky, picky… FIRE MILLEN! DON’T TAKE A WIDE RECEIVER WITH THE SECOND PICK!
